Alan Chu graduated from two different British Royal Colleges of Music, RAM and RCM, with master’s degree in Piano Performance and bachelor’s degree with First-Class Honors respectively. Later, he studied at the Cologne University of Music in Germany under an Erasmus scholarship, learn from Wellesley Lobanov (disciple of the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus). Alan Chu has won many piano competitions awards in Hong Kong and overseas. As a pianist, he is praised for having “amazing playing skills and outstanding musical attainments” and for being “very delicate, charming and powerful” include:

Alan Chu has written articles for the music magazine “Qinyun”. Also, he is a member of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and became judge for several local and national piano competitions. In terms of teaching, he can more accurately help students reach competition award-level.
In addition, Alan Chu was awarded the title of academician by the Royal Academy of Music in 2017. Currently working as a lecturer and course development consultant at the following institutions:
