Chan has had a profound interest and passion for classical piano since childhood. To fulfill her musical aspirations, she has traveled to various regions and countries for advanced studies in classical piano, earning her Master’s degree in Piano. Her classical piano training was under the guidance of the widely recognized pianist, Dr. Corey Hamm, from North America and Asia. She also had the opportunity to hone her classical piano skills with Dan Zhao Yi, a teacher of renowned pianist Yundi Li, in Shenzhen. Chan graduated from the world-renowned University of British Columbia and Hong Kong Baptist University, obtaining various professional qualifications, including:
- Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of British Columbia
- Bachelor’s degree in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University
- LTCL Performing Diploma from Trinity College London
- ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Certificate and Grade 5 Music Theory Certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
During Chan’s studies, she also participated in piano competitions, achieving outstanding results. These include:
- Champion of the 4th Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition
- 2nd place at the 4th Asian Youth Music Competition

Chan has garnered praise for her extensive experience in music education and classical piano performance. She has taught classical piano in Canada and Hong Kong, showing great care for her students and a passion for sharing her love of music with learners of all ages. By blending Western and Eastern teaching cultures, Chan has developed a novel and engaging educational philosophy. She enhances students’ interest in music through interactive games, aiming to nurture more talented students through her unique teaching approach.
Experienced Music Examiner with Insight into Exam Requirements
Chan has been invited to serve as an examiner for music assessments (RCM), giving her a deep understanding of the standards and requirements involved. This expertise enables her to effectively prepare students for music examinations and competitions. Chan has assisted countless students in preparing for the prestigious Canadian Music Competition (MCM), providing personalised teaching tactics to help them achieve great outcomes.

Chan possesses a profound musical background and a passion for embracing new challenges. She believes that life requires courage to try new things and a commitment to continuous improvement. Every decision deserves careful consideration, much like a composer thoughtfully selecting the right notes for their score, which can lead to unexpected yet rewarding outcomes. During her time back in Hong Kong, Chan participated in the 2023 Miss Hong Kong pageant and signed as an artist with TVB, where she now serves as a host for the program “Scoop”.
