Recognized and Mentored by Industry Music Producers 

Sylvester’s outstanding performing and composition skills have been recognized and supported by professionals in the music industry. He has worked as a guitarist and music producer for well-known music producer and composer Ronald Ng on TV commercial songs and pop music productions. Sylvester is also a member of two independent bands in Hong Kong, namely 六毫子樂隊 (as lead vocalist and guitarist) and the 67RMB band (as guitarist and composer). The 67RMB band has been invited by record companies to record songs and release compilation albums. Sylvester is responsible for song composing, mixing, and lyric-writing for songs like “Rockband” and “我愛的人“ 

With years of live performance experience, Sylvester began his music career since his secondary school years.  He has been invited as a guest performer for various concerts, including Dollar-a-Day Concert (as lead vocalist, guitarist, and drummer) and Y-Concept: AMP Project CD Release Show (as a guitarist), among others. 

Singer-songwriter at Young Age 

Sylvester is a young singer-songwriter who has a wide range of skills in popular music production and instrument playing. He excels in composition and mixing. He is also proficient in various instruments such as piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and drums, showcasing his exceptional musical abilities.   

After graduating from Carleton University in Canada with a Bachelor degree in Music, majoring in Singer-songwriter, Sylvester also served as a baritone singer in the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Choir. He holds the following professional qualifications: 

– Bachelor of Music degree from Carleton University, Canada (Major in Singer-songwriter) 

– ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory   

Popular Music Education 

In terms of popular music education, during his university years, Sylvester delved into different eras and styles of music, studying music theory and composition. As a result, he is familiar with and skilled in creating various music genres, including Pop, Acoustic Pop, Blues Rock, Punk Rock, J-Rock, and more. 

Sylvester has several years of teaching experience and specializes in providing composition courses, popular guitar music lessons, and music theory lessons for both adults and children. He advocates for enjoyable learning experiences and aims to inspire students with his passion for music, encouraging them to explore various music styles and develop their own personal performance and composition styles.
