YU has been passionate about music since childhood and aspired to become a professional musician, contributing to Cantonese music. Throughout the growing-up process, YU continuously honed singing techniques and music theory. At the age of 15, YU began playing and singing simultaneously and furthered songwriting skills, learning to use a keen sense of chords and melodies to enhance singing performance techniques. Subsequently, YU obtained the RSL Rockschool Vocals Grade 8 and ABRSM Music Theory Grade 8 certificates.

During his studies, YU started receiving professional vocal coaching. He enrolled in the “Advanced Certificate In Vocal Techniques & Performing Vocalist” program at Baron School of Music, where he learned industry-specific recording and interpretation techniques. In 2021, he successfully completed the program and was accepted into the “Vocal Masterclass” and he studied under the mentorship of Ronald Ng, the dean of the school. Subsequently, he signed a contract with Baron School of Music to become a vocal instructor in their vocal department.
YU excels in various singing and stage techniques. During his university years, he formed a band with like-minded musicians and frequently performed at different venues. He was also invited by various organizations to participate in performance events, accumulating a wealth of stage and real-life experience.
A lifelong learner dedicated to promoting music
YU is passionate about promoting and educating in the appreciation of Cantopop. He continuously seeks to enhance his musical accomplishments and knowledge, keeping up with the latest trends in vocal teaching and sharing more music knowledge with his students.

As a young individual, YU aims to guide students in cultivating a love for continuous learning in music through a relaxed and enjoyable teaching approach. He adapts his teaching methods to cater to individual needs and interests, providing a progressive music education. He hopes that students can find their place in the world of music and express their emotions through music, ultimately achieving their musical dreams.
